Meet Dr. Noreen Samra, DTCM
Dr. Noreen Samra is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, trained at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her clinical focus includes pain management, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, emotional health, and women’s health.
Finding Her Calling in Chinese Medicine
Dr. Noreen was drawn to Chinese Medicine for its emphasis on vitality, graceful aging, and prevention. While working in corporate Calgary, she found it became one of the most effective tools she had for maintaining her own physical and emotional health. That experience eventually pointed her toward a new career altogether.
A Lifelong Learner
Before TCM, Dr. Noreen built a varied career. She trained as a Chartered Accountant, worked in the charitable and not-for-profit sector, lectured at the university level, and even spent a short stint in pre-veterinary medicine. She also holds degrees in English and Marketing. That range shows up in how she treats patients: curious, thorough, and never satisfied with a one-size-fits-all answer.
Her Approach to Care
Outside the Clinic
When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Noreen is usually deep into a mystery novel, rewatching old Star Trek episodes, or out on a forest hike. At home, she’s kept busy by her “zoo”: four cats and a dog.
