Massage Therapy in Calgary
If you’re feeling tight, stressed, or run down, bodywork can be a practical way to reset—physically and mentally. At Beacon Hill Chiropractic and Massage, our team focuses on both the muscles and soft tissues that influence how you move, rest, and feel day to day.
While chiropractic care focuses on the spine and how it relates to the nervous system, hands-on soft tissue care focuses on muscle tension, mobility, and comfort. Many people choose this service on its own, and others like combining it with chiropractic care as part of a broader wellness plan.
A Practical, Integrated Option
A lot of patients first book with our registered massage therapists (RMTs) because they want time dedicated to tight areas, lingering tension, or everyday strain. For those who also see our chiropractors, pairing the two services can be a helpful way to address both the body’s framework and the muscular system.
Whether you’re booking a single appointment or building a consistent routine, we’ll tailor the session to your comfort level and goals.
Meet Our Massage Therapy Team
We have one of the largest RMT teams in Northwest Calgary, with over a dozen registered massage therapists on staff. Each therapist has completed a minimum of 2,200 hours of professional training, so you have access to a wide range of approaches and experience.
Our team includes both male and female practitioners, making it easier to find the right fit—whether you’re recovering after an injury, dealing with ongoing tension, training regularly, or simply looking to unwind.

Tension Patterns and Movement
Long-standing spinal concerns are often linked with ongoing tension patterns, areas of tightness, and restricted movement. Hands-on soft tissue care can help reduce that “stuck” feeling and improve ease of movement, especially when combined with healthy posture habits and consistent care.
Massage Options We Offer
Many of our therapists may also include techniques such as cupping and the Graston Technique when appropriate to your preferences and goals. Our RMTs tailor care to a wide variety of needs, including:
- Rehabilitative and Therapeutic: A focused approach for tight areas or ongoing discomfort, often chosen when you want targeted work and improved mobility.
- Relaxation and Stress Management: Slower, calming techniques designed to help you settle your nervous system and let go of built-up tension.
- Prenatal and Postnatal: Care adapted for pregnancy and postpartum comfort, including positioning and techniques that match each stage.
- Performance-Focused: Popular with active people who want to maintain mobility, reduce tightness between sessions, and recover well after training.
- Paediatric: Gentle, age-appropriate techniques for children and teens, often used for general tension, activity-related strain, and relaxation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my appointment take place?
Your appointment will take place in a quiet, warm, comfortable room with soft lighting and gentle background music. You’ll lie on a comfortable table designed to keep you well-positioned throughout your session.
What should I wear?
This care is typically performed with the client unclothed, though you will be appropriately draped at all times. You decide what level of comfort is right for you.
Most people undress completely, while some leave underwear on. Your privacy is respected at all times.
What parts of my body will be worked on?
You and the therapist will discuss your goals beforehand. A typical full-body session may include work on your back, arms, legs, head, neck, and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your genitals or breasts.
Will a lubricant be used?
A light oil or lotion may be used to reduce friction and allow smoother strokes. If you have allergies or sensitivities to certain oils or scents, let your therapist know ahead of time.
What will it feel like?
Your session may begin with broad, flowing strokes to help you settle in. Pressure can be adjusted throughout based on your preferences and comfort level.
If you’d like more or less pressure at any time, tell your therapist as clear communication helps create the best experience.
Will I feel sore afterward?
Some people feel sore or tender the next day, depending on the style used and the amount of pressure applied. Drinking extra water after your appointment may help you feel more comfortable, and soreness typically resolves within a day.

I did not realize how badly I need a good massage and Sarah was not only up to the task but did an over whelming job. I did not realize how many knots were in my muscles or how many of my muscles were overly tight, but Sarah massaged and got them all to relax. I feel absolutely great as a result, better than I felt in months. I will definitely be back for follow ups.

Sarah Jean is a phenomenal RMT! She did an immaculate job and offered so much in terms of service, adding graston therapy and cupping along with deep tissue massage. It was fantastic and I highly recommend her. The staff at Beacon Hill Chiropractic and Massage Chiropractic and Massage go above and beyond for their clients. I have had outstanding service there regardless of what treatment therapy I have received.

This was my 12-year-old sons first massage ever. He was nervous to go, but his massage therapist was kind and patient and explained everything to my son. He made sure to ask how the pressure was and explained the muscles and the proper watt to stretch after his practices and games. 10/10 recommend!
